Welcome to this space: let's talk about the forestry sector
Hello, I am Douglas Calderón , a forestry engineer graduated from the National University of Colombia, Medellín campus.
If you've made it this far, you probably share my interest in trees, nurseries, sustainable production systems, and in general in that little-seen world that sustains life: the forest.
This blog was created to raise awareness of a part of the forestry sector that often goes unnoticed , but which has great productive, economic, and environmental potential for Colombia. Here you will find useful, up-to-date, and applicable information, especially if you are considering developing projects that involve:
Forest nurseries
Agroforestry systems
Commercial or protective reforestation
Forestry uses
Environmental permit management
Conservation and compensation
Did you know that...
...in Colombia, can trees not be cut down without authorization?...or that forest plantations must be registered to be legally harvested?
These are just some of the topics I'll be covering here. The idea is to answer common questions, share real-world experiences, and give you the tools to make better decisions for your projects.
